1. Acceptance of these terms

NRI Papers ("the app") is provided by the developer of NRI Papers ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What the app is

NRI Papers is a private, offline organiser for your Indian documents and deadlines. It helps you keep documents in one place and track the dates that matter to you. It works entirely on your device, with no accounts and no servers.

3. General information only

Any reference material, checklists, or descriptions in the app are general information only. Rules, fees, forms, and deadlines set by governments change, and information in the app can become outdated at any time.

Official government sources are the authority on every requirement and deadline. Where the app links to an official source, that source — not the app — is authoritative.

To be clear, the app:

• does not provide legal, tax, or immigration counsel of any kind;
• does not file applications or submit forms on your behalf;
• does not contact consulates, embassies, or any government office;
• does not make promises about compliance, eligibility, or outcomes.

If you need help with a legal, tax, or immigration matter, please consult a qualified professional.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for verifying every deadline, requirement, and rule with the relevant official government source before you act on it. Reminders in the app depend on the dates you enter and on your device's settings; treat them as a helpful nudge, not as the final word.

You are also responsible for keeping your device secure and for maintaining your own backups. Because the app has no servers, we cannot recover data that is lost from your device.

5. Use of the app

You may use the app for your own personal purposes. You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to reverse engineer it except where the law permits, or use it in any unlawful way.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

The app has a free tier and a paid tier, NRI Papers Pro. The free tier remains available without payment: it includes two tracked papers and one profile. Prices for the paid options are shown in the app before any purchase.

Two paid options exist:

• Yearly plan. An auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple account. It starts with a 14-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. After that, the subscription renews each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store subscription settings.
• Lifetime. A one-time purchase. It does not renew and involves no subscription.

All billing and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Refund requests go through Apple, not through us.

7. Limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the app — including missed deadlines, outdated information, lost data, or decisions made in reliance on the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be limited by agreement.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we will update this page and the effective date above. Your continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of the Netherlands.
